Pink Floyd - Meddle 1971. is the sixth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 31 October 1971 by Harvest Records. The album was produced between the band's touring commitments, from January to August 1971 at a series of locations around London, including Abbey Road Studios and Morgan Studios. With no material to work with and no clear idea of the album's direction, the band devised a series of novel experiments which eventually inspired the album's signature track Echoes. Meddle is a classic Pink Floyd album recorded and released in 1971, which contains Echoes, one of their longest compositions. A few tibits of information about this album: The song Echoes was the entire side B of Meddle. Echoes was also featured on the Pink Floyd feature length, crowd-less show video, titled Live at Pompeii The lyrics of the song One Of These Days has only one sentence and it was spoken as opposed to being sung. That Line was : &. Meddle is the sixth studio album by English progressive rock group Pink Floyd, released on 31 October 1971 by Harvest Records. It was produced between the bands touring commitments, from January to August 1971. The album was recorded at a series of locations around London, including Abbey Road Studios and Morgan Studios. With no material to work with and no clear idea of the albums direction, the group devised a series of novel experiments which eventually inspired the albums signature track, Echoes. Arriving bereft of ideas, Pink Floyd did something on Meddle that was becoming increasingly rare: They collaborated together in the studio. At first, this didn't lead to much. The album, before its arrival on Oct. 31, 1971, was actually known as Nothing, Parts 1-24. Recorded in a series of locales around London between concert dates, Meddle eventually came together with help both instrumentally and lyrically from all four members, a stark contrast to the Roger Waters -dominated albums to come in the '70s. Album 1971 6 Songs. One of These Days is a rolling juggernaut of echoed bass, with organ and guitar hawkishly swooping about. In Fearless they play unvarnished folk rock Seamus is straightforward blues with a howling dog solo. The opus Echoes is a stately 23-minute trip through what would become classic Floyd whisper-rock, taking in a greasy funk breakdown and wailing ghost noises. Meddle is the sixth studio album by English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 31 October 1971 by Harvest Records. Great instrumentals. Great vocals. Great production. Great mixing. Great lyrics. Each track is that of a different genre. There are no bad songs. Pink Floyd were nothing if not masters of texture, and Meddle is one of their greatest excursions into little details, pointing the way to the measured brilliance of Dark Side of the Moon and the entire Roger Waters era. Here, David Gilmour exerts a slightly larger influence, at least based on lead vocals, but it's not all sweetness and light - even if its lilting rhythms are welcome, San Tropez feels out of place with the rest of Meddle
