The album would drastically change the direction and sound of the band from their heavily synthesizer-based, EBM debut album into a more heavy metal based style, while still retaining elements of their EBM origins. It is widely regarded as the first Neue Deutsche Härte album made, becoming a huge inspiration for bands such as Rammstein.
