Info
Instead, Heavy Wish is relatively restrained, even when Chambers' soft vocals are complemented by horns, jazz piano, or sounds that seem to come from the outer reaches of space. The vocals, however, are also a weakness: in One a Day, a mostly instrumental track that warrants some comparison to Pink Floyd, Chambers' vocals are a bit thin and don't add enough to the picture to strike up anything intoxicating. Compra vinili, CD e altro di Carlos Anthony Molina nel Marketplace di Wish plays like Lou Reed fronting the Flaming Lips wrapped in muslin. Everything seems somewhat muted, as if singing from the bottom of an aspirin bottle filled with cotton. There are no sharp edges here on any front. Every instrument and Chambers vocals are subdued and laid back. Organs and horns abound throughout the album, and the chorus of opener Sirocco Heavy Wish is the closest the band gets to extravagance, as those instruments swell into a massive wind tunnel that imitates the songs title. Even the band knows that this is one of their strongest songs as they reprise it late. The album features production by Oh Land herself, along with David Andrew Sitek of TV on the Radio, Dan Carey and Grant WNDRBRD Michaels. It was preceded by the singles Renaissance Girls and Pyromaniac. In 2012, Oh Land announced that she was developing new music in the studio
