Mirror Ball is the 21st studio album by Canadian musician Neil Young, and features members of American rock band Pearl Jam. It was released on June 27, 1995 through Reprise Records. The album has been certified gold by the RIAA in the United States. The album's recording sessions took place in January 1995 and February 1995 at Bad Animals Studio in Seattle, Washington. The album was produced by Brendan O'Brien, who had previously worked on Pearl Jam's 1993 album, Vs. and 1994 album, Vitalogy. Neil Young uses Pearl Jam on Mirror Ball much as he has used his perennial backup band Crazy Horse, looking for feel and spontaneity. At the start of the record, he can be heard instructing them: No tuning, nothing, and the take of I'm the Ocean is an obvious run-through that became a master take. This bootleg is shity. I bought it for 30Euros and it's a shame. Someone said "quite noisy", my god it's cracking louder than a jackhammer ... Save money and find an original, that's my advice.

Bought a copy of this two days ago in Bath. I thought it was the original one but it was a replica instead. Great graphics, even the carboard of the sleeve looks like the original (or so I recall, I only got an original copy in my hands for seconds years ago). This unofficial replica is not gatefold and you can recognize it by the catalog number and by the inner record sleeves which are not transparent and plastic-folded but made of white paper with a hole for the label. I never had a chance to play the original vinyl so, even thought I bet the unofficial reissue is taken from CDs and doesn't have a proper vinyl mix, I must say I'm not disappointed with the audio: the vinyl is quite noisy but so is the record (no many ballads here), so it's ok ;-)

I added the matrix on the release page. At least that one would be very easy way to identify the bootleg from the original. Also on the side 2 label, approximately at 7 o'clock position, there is a line that looks like the label has cracked or torn a bit during the pressing process. Anyway, that is not a real crack, it's just scanned from the original cracked label and printed to this version.
