Superb band formed Ottawa, Canada. My original vinyl copy was issued on the small Canadian 'Hit Records' label (PL 1016).
Originally released in 1983, the obvious progressive rock/fusion influences make it sound more like 1975-78. Almost an early Kansas/Bruford/Ponty solo LP kind of vibe at times. Wow, the guitar playing of Marc Spenard is hard to describe. Definitely not Holdsworth, Morse or Howe, but somewhere in between perhaps? He plays with such ferociousness. Along with the 70's jazz fusion comparisons, they also have a Canterbury/ National Health/Hatfield thing going for them too I suppose, but somehow Nathan Mahl manage not to sound too derivative of those bands.
A lot of people still think Nathan Mahl is a person, when actually it's a band, a damn good band...excellent debut!

I've added my Nathan Mahl video upload here at Discogs. It features two of my favourite cuts from this LP. Please see the release page to view the video. Thanks.
