Tailgate 11. Monstrum Sepsis is the music project started in late 1996 between Paul J. Karlik and Robert P. Both started writing music in the early 90s with four tracks and amiga music trackers. Rob is a classically trained pianist raised with moog synthesizers rattling the windows, while Paul's extensive sampling and audio mangling techniques brings a level of entropy to the mix for a unique experience. Monstrum Sepsis is an electronic music act which was originally formed in 1996 when Paul Karlik and Rob Wentz met during their first weeks of attendance at the Illinois Institute of Art's Chicago campus while studying multimedia and computer animation. Both Paul and Rob were immediately inspired by each others work and interests, in particular the music each created both being computer musicians using various forms of computer tracker programs to sequence experimental industrial and electroEBM influenced beats and song structures.
