Brand New by Tomorrow is Money Mark's seventh solo studio album, which was released on February 5, 2007. The first single was Pick Up The Pieces, which was co-written by Jack Johnson. Brand New by Tomorrow received a rating of 6. 2 by Pitchfork. The melancholy nature of the lyrics about a failed relationship saw comparisons by some critics to Beck's 2002 album Sea Change. Brand New By Tomorrow isn't quite Money Mark's most inspired piece of work - that would have to be 1998's Push The Button. This album even sounds a bit like it, with its electic pop pieces. But Brand New By Tomorrow is more focused on its theme than on trying out new sounds. I recently discovered this side of Money Mark and I must say I really love this album. This album covers many styles and Money Mark seems to do rather well with all of them. Instrumentation also varies greatly, with the album taking on a folk ballad kind of feeling.
