On this record, Urbaniak plays keyboards and sax in addition to the electric violin with which he is most often associated. Of course, the record relies heavily on synthesized programs and rhythms, which inevitably gives nearly every tune that manufactured flavor. But as the title implies, expect these tunes to be soundtracky.

Polish violinist and saxophonist Michael Urbaniak was a fresh voice on the horizon when he arrived here in the early '70s and began recording. Unfortunately, Urbaniak's once-vital sound was quickly absorbed into the trendy fabric of fusion, and his music was diluted to the point where it was indistinguished and empty. This 1988 solo set, with Urbaniak free from commercial pressures and considerations, ranks as his most accomplished, intriguing release. Michał Urbaniak born January 22, 1943 is a Polish jazz musician who plays violin, lyricon, and saxophone. His music includes elements of folk music, rhythm and blues, hip hop, and symphonic music. Urbaniak started his music education during high school in Łódź, Poland, and continued from 1961 in Warsaw in the violin class of Tadeusz Wroński. Learning to play on the saxophone alone, he first played in a Dixieland band, and later with Zbigniew Namysłowski and the Jazz Rockers, with whom he performed.
