Journal For Plague Lovers - Manic Street Preachers. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей коллекцией. Journal for Plague Lovers is the ninth studio album by Welsh alternative rock band Manic Street Preachers, released in May 2009 by record label Columbia. Recorded between October 2008 and February 2009 and produced by Steve Albini and Dave Eringa, it features exclusively posthumously published lyrics by Richey Edwards, who disappeared on 1 February 1995 and was presumed deceased in 2008. It is the only Manic Street Preachers album in which the lyrics for every song were written solely by Edwards. Manic Street Preachers co-lyricist and guitarist Richey James Edwards disappeared in February 1995, just months after the release of their lacerating third album, The Holy Bible. A few weeks before his disappearance, Edwards gave his band mates notebooks containing lyrics that were left unused. After five albums of lyrics mostly written by bassist Nicky Wire, and not wanting to repeat themselves in spite of the commercial success of 2007s Send Away the Tigers, vocalist-guitarist James Dean Bradfield suggested that they finally use the lyrics that Edwards had left behind. Journal for Plague Lovers the band's ninth album echoes their 1994 masterpiece The Holy Bible both visually controversial and highly symbolic artwork, showing a beautiful but bloodied child, by Jenny Saville that Simple Minds backwards font and sonically, with Steve Albini chosen chiefly for his work on Nirvana's In Utero, an Edwards obsession capturing Bradfield's guitars at their harshest and. This album shows the Manic Street Preachers are still a fantastic band and their recent performance at T in the Park definately confirmed this who aren't afraid to try something different, and are not out just to sell mindless millions of records. With their last album, Send Away the Tigers, they were also on form and this cements their position as one of the most though provoking bands to ever come out of Britain. What he did leave behind was his band, the Manic Street Preachers, who continued as a trio in his absence with his family's blessing. A few weeks prior to his disappearance, Edwards gave Wire a folder filled with lyrics and poetry. It had a picture of Bugs Bunny on the cover, with the word opulence&quo
