Mental Jewelry is the second studio album by the band Live, released on December 31, 1991. It is also the band's major label debut and their first under this name they had previously released the album The Death of a Dictionary under the name Public Affection, under which it also released the EP Divided Mind, Divided Planet. Many of the songs on Mental Jewelry are based on the writings of Indian philosopher Jiddu Krishnamurti. 12 tracks 51:33. Mental Jewelry'' is the second studio album by the band Live, released on December 31, 1991. Album 1991 12 Songs. Mental Jewelry. Alternative 's debut album, Mental Jewelry, is full of Ed Kowalczyk's Eastern philosophical ideologies, based on Jiddu Krishnamurti going as far as to name one track here after a Krishnamurti book, You Are the World. Considering the quartet were twentysomethings questioning their Christian upbringings at this time, it's understandable that they'd sing lines like I have forever always triedto stay clean and constantly baptized and promote brotherhood, world peace, and self-awareness. But too soon Mental Jewelry sounds too idealistic, too preachy, and somet. Mental Jewerly. Live - Mental Jewerly 1991. To favorites 2 Download album. Listen album. Alister
Gimmicky purple vinyl that has ZERO point or worth and is just bait to mark up the price. Pay half this price for the black vinyl, which sounds quite a bit better anyway.

It is the exact same mastering as the 25th anniversary edition CD. Fortunately the remaster isn't done by Ted Jensen who would have just "slammed" it like he does with everything, it's remastered by Kevin Brantley. Given the mastering is identical, there is little reason to fork out 3x the money for the vinyl especially when it's additionally compromised by the running times.Hopefully some day this will get the release it deserves, being mastered AND CUT FROM the original analogue stereo master over 2LPs.

Untrue. This vinyl version sounds a little bit better than my CD. In no way is this a step back

Nowadays, the labels press everything to some pointless color variant. 'Hey look, the album cover is purple. I bet if we pressed up a bunch of these on purple vinyl and marked up the price, the vinyl suckers will buy it in in droves.'What a sham.

Or just get the 25th anniversary CD as it's the same mastering. This one was recorded to analogue tape, the vinyl release should be spread over 2 LPs and CUT directly from the analogue stereo master. Until then, the record sounds the same as the new CD version, both good but if you're going to plonk down this much money you should probably be aware that it's the same mastering and the vinyl is compromised by the running times per side (see what Kevin Gray has to say, 18 mins per side is ideal - http://www.recordtech.com/prodsounds.htm)
