Down on the Farm is the seventh studio album by the American rock band Little Feat. The album was completed and released shortly after the death of the band's founder and frontman, Lowell George, in 1979. It was their last original work for nine years. The band had announced their break-up in June 1979 during the making of the album. Little Feat would reform in 1987. The cover shows one of Neon Park's several duck-girls - an allusion to The Finishing Touch by painter Gil Elvgren. Down on the Farm. Исполнитель: Little Feat. As Little Feat were working on their seventh studio album, Lowell George was just marginally part of the group, spending much of his time completing his solo album, Thanks I'll Eat It Here. While he was touring in support of the record, he suffered a massive heart attack and died, leaving behind an uncompleted record with Little Feat. After mourning, the band regrouped and patched together Down on the Farm, the last album of the Lowell-led era. The album comes across as being uninspired, lacking in direction, with the band setting aside their adventure into comprehensive jazz-rock fusion and delivering a rather straightforward album of both song and verse. This is not to say that the album doesnt have its moments, because it does, its just that the recored lacks that Little Feat atmosphere, where those inspired moments need to be searched out and nurtured as half remembered dreams.
