Full Circle is an album by American jazz vocalist and percussionist Leon Thomas recorded in 1973 and released by the Flying Dutchman label. Let the pimped-out picture on the front cover serve as a warning, though. There are not a lot of jazz fireworks here. this is a fairly straight-ahead pop and soul offering. Amos Leon Thomas Jr born 1937, died May 8, 1999 was an American avant garde jazz singer from East St. Louis, Illinois. He changed his name to Leone in 1974. Thomas is best known for his work with Pharoah Sanders, particularly the 1969 song The Creator Has a Master Plan from Sanders' Karma album. Thomas's most distinctive device was that he often broke out into yodeling in the middle of a vocal. Leon Thomas final album for Flying Dutchman marked a change in his career. In the previous five-year period he had always been moving forward, with four studio albums and several live recordings. Afterwards he recorded only a handful of singles and a couple of albums in the years until his death in 1999. Full Circle , recorded as Thomas was about to join Santana, was another attempt at widening his appeal. The album featured a cover of Santanas Just In Time To See The Sun, a song that suited Thomas voice very well and sat well alongside his own compositions Its My Life Im Fighting For and Balance Of Life Peace Of Mind.
