Info
Lick is the third album by The Lemonheads and the last to feature founding member Ben Deily. It was released in 1989 and was the group's last album before signing to major label Atlantic. A typo on the album itself erroneously states its release date as 1988. As with their first two albums, it was re-released as a CD in 1992, with two bonus tracks. As would become something of a trademark, the Lemonheads' lineup featured some significant differences on Lick from both previous and later albums. Lick - The Lemonheads. Indie Rock. Band Name Lemonheads. Album Name Lick. Type Album. 发布日期 1989. 出版公司 Taang Records. Although it's fairly incoherent, bouncing back and forth between punk-pop and folky pop, Lick is a thoroughly engaging record. The tensions between Evan Dando and Ben Deily are fairly evident throughout the album, especially since Dando's songs, with their immediate hooks and melodies, outshine his bandmate's, but that unevenness makes the record endearingly messy. Also, the mess makes the group's best songs, including an inspired electric cover of Suzanne Vega's Luka, shine all the more brightly. Album 1987 13 Songs. More By Lemonheads. See . Lick, 2006. Mallo Cup, 02:12. 7 Powers, 02:31. This month Fire Records re-issue three early albums by The Lemonheads. Originally released through TAANG Records in the 80s but resurrected in 2013 for a very good reason. Their follow up album, Creator finds them leaning closer to REM than Negative FX. The laconic, Out sounds as if Dinosaur Jr had started influencing the East coast sound. Overall it isnt as vibrant as their debut writing more of a sub-Replacements Indie Pop Punk. The songs seem unfinished and demo-like. Listen free to The Lemonheads Lick Mallo Cup, Glad I Don't Know and more. 13 tracks 31:21. Lemonheads Format: Vinyl. Please retry. While I much prefer the first two albums to this one, Lick is still a pretty good record. Sadly, there's much less noise, urgency, and punkish energy on this record than their earlier ones but, again, compared to the long line of crappy releases that followed this, Lick is still a lot better. I am very happy to have this back in my music collection Read more
