A little history lesson re.the early releases under this name on vinyl. The first release was as the above release-a 4LP set with Red cover pasted onto a black box with white lettering and properly printed labels, orange first and yellow later.I used to know all these concerts etc.and their differences but for now all I can say is that all these releases were centred around their ill fated US 1977 Tour, and specifically the two shows at Richfield Coliseum,Cleveland Ohio on April 27th and 28th 1977.I cannot remember whether it is correct but the first release here was dated as the first show from the 27th and it certainly is a totally different recording from the later soundboard sources. This box set is a good AUDIENCE recording and it was soon rereleased under the same Smilin Ears Nos.and cover etc.BUT there were differences in detail/colour of the lettering on the cover and there were blank labels -I am not sure how the quality of the second set compares but it certainly was the same or down on the first as I can remember. These 2 1st BoxSets were US releases from the late 1970s.Next to follow was a 4LP Box Set again, but this came from a soundboard recording with more tracks and was meant to be from the 2nd night of the 2 Richfield Coliseum shows on the 28th.This had a glossy blue image of Jimmy Page on the front with black surrounds and red?lettering and appeared around 1979/80 ish. This had the DRGM 505 Number.Next to appear(a year later maybe) with the same night soundboard recording but a better sourced copy was the famous 'typewriter box' -4Lps again with a cleverly designed front cover/back cover card type slicks designed to fit onto the case made of some plastic polymer...available in 6 different colour cases but where are they all now??This release continued under the same DRGM number and initially had properly designed labels-a first set, with a second set of slightly different design but basically the same numbers etc. After these there were blank label copies which once the cases had finished appeared in black boxes, black covers etc.and the front cover slick-though keeping the same artwork-changed in colours 2 or 3 times. Finally I think there were copies with a new paper insert and blank label discs which mopped up what was left pressed. The 2 main releases-the first DRGM one and then all those emanating from the 'typewriter case'release- were US/UK collaborations but both were completely different sources. After these there were a few US copies under other titles, forms on vinyl before the CD onslaught but that's another story and I have done the early years!

Your review would work better if you separated the release shown on this page - THE DESTROYER (aud. recording from the 2nd night, 28 April '77) released in 1978 on Smilin' Ears label in USA from DESTROYER (soundboard from 1st night, 27 April '77), released in UK in early/mid 80's (DRGM 505) and later copied in US with a plastic carrying case.

Certainly with 'unofficial' releases made in the 2nd half of the 20th century you will find the country of manufacture on the sleeve is the one place it was not made in for 90% of releases!
