Naa
Excessive noise throughout the first song on B side (Moments of Pleasure) so I plan to exchange it. Such a shame, because everything else is dead quiet with no pops or hisses and really sounds fantastic.

Welcome to the official Optimal Haters club. I have some records from this plant that are butchered by strange sibilance (and many other issues) too. I guess it's due to their shoddy quality control.

Damn... that makes me sad to think that it’s a whole batch. I’ve noticed it on other discs too, such as The Kick Inside and The Other Sides.

Yes. I couldn't listen to the whole track...also agree the sibilance on "Why Should I Love You?" was a disappointment, too.

Kigul
Yes, it's frankly deplorable; the vocal distorts to the point of being almost unlistenable, not sure how this passed quality control. The track also sounds louder/more aggressive than the other songs on the album (did they use the single mix? That could be the explanation for the difference in sound). I actually find a lot of the songs to be sibilant, particularly 'Moments of Pleasure' (which gets worse as the song progresses), 'The Song of Solomon', 'Lily', the title track, and 'Why Should I Love You?' (the worst offender after 'Eat the Music', the second verse is a mess). It's such a shame because otherwise the remaster is a revelation: so much warmer and dynamic than the original digital mix/master, which always stuck out like a sore thumb in her discography.

Mr_Jeйson
Just giving my copy a first spin. First impressions are that every effort has been made to do these reissues properly, spotlessly clean heavyweight vinyl in poly lined inners, lack of any audible surface noise and not a single pop or click over first two sides.
