Info
Go is the debut studio album by Icelandic musician Jónsi, frontman of the post-rock band Sigur Rós. The album was released on 5 April 2010, through XL Recordings, as reported by a downloadable track from the official site. The fourth track of the album, Boy Lilikoi, was released for free from Jónsi's website, available to those subscribing to the website's mailing list. The first track on the upcoming album 'Go' from Jónsi. The full studio version. LYRICS Go sing, too loud Make your voice break- Sing it out Go free to Jónsi Go Go Do, Animal Arithmetic and more. 9 tracks 40:20. Go contains nine songs amassed from the large pool of songs written by Jónsi during his many years with Sigur Rós. The album is sung in english and icelandic, and was co-produced by Jónsi, his partner Alex Somers and Peter Katis The National, Interpol. When he began working on Go, Jónsi initially thought he would be making a low-key, acoustic album until, as he says, somewhere along the line, it just sort of exploded. That explosion resulted in sheer aural fireworks. Go, released in 2010, is the first solo album from Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi following Riceboy Sleeps which he created with Alex Somers in 2009. Some of the tracks Jónsi had written for Sigur Rós but ultimately thought they didnt fit with the bands style. The majority of the lyrics are in English. Go Q&A. Jónsi Birgisson doesn't do small. As the lead singer of Sigur Rós, he's starred in several of this century's most epic songs with their penchant for instrumental swells, feedback, and weight-of-humanity wails, the Icelandic band has practically set a new, near unreachable height for melodramatic art rock. But after perfecting this style on 2005's Takk, Jónsi and his mates have had some trouble finding a way out from beneath the burden of big. Their last album, 2008's Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, tried to temper the bombast but occasionally got bogged down in. Jónsi - Go 2010. To favorites 6 Download album. Listen album. Anyone expecting Jónsi's solo debut to sound anything much like his work as vocalist with Sigur Rós might be a little shocked. Only a little, though. Unlike the sound of the band, which is akin to being enveloped in a great misty cloud of shifting tones and textures, listening to Go is, for the most part, like being caught in a storm of color saturated hailstones. Go is the debut studio album by Icelandic musician Jónsi, frontman of the band Sigur Rós. According to a late 26 May 2009 post on Sigur Rós official site, the album features predominantly acoustic music and string arrangements from composer Nico Muhly
