The Trumpeteers, also know as the CBS Trumpeteers, were a black gospel group, best know for their recording of Milky White Way originally done in 1947 for the Score label. They recorded for a variety of labels, like Score, King, Okeh, Gotham, Grand, Nashboro and HSE, from 1947 into the 1980's.
