From the fantastic near-hit single "I'm Not Comfortable Inside My Mind" and Warp Records´ cheapest ever video (£5, beat that Windowlicker), which was featured on MTV, to nude modelling and performance art stunts (including sponsored masturbation), the multi-costumed, multi-talented John Callaghan, from Birmingham (UK), is a performer of spiky and odd electro-cabaret with songs about hope, melancholia, timewasting and clothes. When a guy like him joins forces with the equally talented multi-instrumentalist and delirious song-writing artist Miss Hypnotique, the time continuum itself may vibrate in awe for the length of a song. Or at least you - the listener - might end up with a twisted new haircut. The latter will be much more probable if you play “You Lack Discipline” on a loud PA.

The first time I heard this violent little tune was during a John Callaghan Liveshow in Cologne’s infamous Tsunami-Club. While Hypnotique was running around on stage in a tight secretary outfit shouting “You Lack Discipline" to the stunned public, the only thing I was thinking was: “Wow. What an awesome wonky, violent and harshful variation of exactly the same energy that triggered the Universe to drive Daniel Miller to write “Warm Leatherette”. Its just harder. And much funnier.” - The next thing that I heard is that the track had never been released, just used at live-shows. Guess what? Precisely! John and Susi gladly acepted my offer to issue the track on my freestyler platform SERVE & DESTROY, phalanxed by half a dozen fancy and artful remixers of the most talented underground producers Germany and England could possibly hold in prison due to dangerous skills: BEIGE [nonplace], OCTAVCAT [uncharted audio], MODERN DAY BLUE, ANTONIO DE LUCA [upcoming promising artist from cologne’s artschool underground], BOB HUMID [Serve & Destroy] and JOHN CALLAGHAN himself, all quite literally wrote completely new visions out of the source-material of the original.
