Gentleman's Agreement is an album by the American jazz saxophonist George Adams and drummer Dannie Richmond recorded in 1983 and released on the Italian Soul Note label. The Penguin Guide to Jazz awarded the album 3 stars stating An interesting reunion of the Adams-Richmond unit which suggests that both men might have been looking for a much broader tonal. Gentleman's Agreement is a 1947 American drama film based on Laura Z. Hobson's best-selling 1947 novel of the same name. It concerns a journalist played by Gregory Peck who poses as a Jew to research an exposé on the widespread distrust and dislike of Jews in New York City and the affluent communities of New Canaan, Connecticut and Darien, Connecticut. It was nominated for eight Oscars and won three: Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress Celeste Holm, and Best Director Elia Kazan. On the one hand, Gentleman's Agreement has a highly enlightened prejudice, even today, let alone 1947. Gregory Peck plays a journalist who decides to pretend to be Jewish so he can attain a real-life perspective on anti-semitism.
