Hiroshi Yoshimura 吉村弘 - Soft Wave For Automatic Music Box early works 1973-76 FULL Allen Cooper's Soft Wave is saxophones on the shoreline. Joined by the synthesizers of Mark Cohen and Rusty Hamilton, the saxophonist lays down a pastel-toned, contemporary instrumental jazz set that's accentuated by the sound of rushing waves and turning tides. Occasionally, the concept is able to draw some real emotion from the work. Tentative piano figures and plaintive sax drift over the crashing waves of Snowflakes, and the title track's melody surges with willowy intensity, even if it is copped from Christopher Cross' soft rock juggernaut Ride.
