Info

No Prayer for the Dying is the eighth studio album by English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. It marks their first line-up change since 1982 guitarist Adrian Smith left the band during the pre-production phase, unhappy with the musical direction it was taking, and only having contributed to one song, Hooks in You. Smith was replaced by Janick Gers, who had previously worked with singer Bruce Dickinson on his first solo-album, Tattooed Millionaire, and had also worked with Ian Gillan, former Marillion. No Prayer for the Dying is the eighth studio album by the British heavy metal band Iron Maiden. No Prayer for the Dying also produced Maiden's only number one single to date, Bring Your Daughter. A new version of is available, to keep everything running smoothly, please reload the site. Iron Maiden. Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей . In my journey through the Iron Maiden albums I knew one thing. I knew that Iron Maiden could never make a truly bad record. As I am going through their discography I have found Maiden to be pretty overrated, but I always understood why they're regarded as the best heavy metal bands of all time. Those of us old enough to remember growing up and living during that era were terrified of WWIII breaking out between the world superpowers. Decades of that fear and tension had just ended. To this day, No Prayer for the Dying is still the one Iron Maiden album perhaps excluding Blaze Bayleys ill-fated stint behind the mic that is most maligned by fans and critics alike. But when Iron Maiden released their eighth album No Prayer for the Dying on Oct. 1, 1990 their health was on the wane and it showed in the album, which most consider far from their worst album but an unremarkable effort nonetheless. The record reached No. 17 on the Billboard album chart and went gold on Nov. 27, 1990, but it was the last Iron Maiden disc to do so and it triggered the bands downward slide, which hit critical mass when Dickinson left in 1993. The band floundered on without him, but didnt regain stride until he and Smith rejoined in 1999. In 1995 Iron Maiden reissued No Prayer for the Dying with cover songs by Stray, Golden Earring, Free and Led Zeppelin. Review Summary: Iron Maiden sells out. After dabbling with synths and proggy metal, No Prayer for the Dying was supposed to be a return to Iron Maiden's grittier, punk influenced NWOBHM roots. But somewhere along the way the band seems to have lost focus, and rather than the straightforward metal ala Iron Maiden or Killers that was promised, we get an agglomeration of 80s hard rock, and tepid Number of the Beast-isms. The disappointing jaunt towards a dying breed of rock more suited to the ACDCs and Def Leppards of the world is hardly No Prayer for the Dying's greatest flaw, however. Only for completionists 8. Review by Bj-1 SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator. IMHHO, this album holds two very good songs No Prayer For The Dying and Public Enema Number One, a great guitar solo during The Assassin and that's basically it. You can maybe add Bring Your Daughter. To The Slaughter with its rather sexual oriented lyrics like : If there's some living to be done , Before your life becomes your tomb
