A compilation of B-side rarities and covers, Iron & Wines 2009 release Around the Well is a veritable hodge-podge of the flavors Sam Beam had previously instilled throughout his three preceding albums. The record is split into two discs, with the first eleven tracks on disc one and the following twelve on disc two a significant delineation. Much of the first disc reminds listeners of debut release The Creek Drank the Cradle, songs like Dearest Foresaken and Sacred Vision could seamlessly blend into the lo-fi acoustic landscape of Creek.
