Switch is the eleventh studio album by the Australian rock band INXS, and their last to be composed of entirely new material. It was released on 29 November 2005. It is notable for being the only album with new lead singer J. Fortune since the 1997 death of Michael Hutchence as well as for having production work by English hit-maker Guy Chambers. The album's songwriting and quality from song to song was found to be inconsistent and varied by critics such as. INXS is Australian rock band INXS's first album. It was released on Deluxe Records in Australia on 13 October 1980. The band recorded the album in midnight to dawn sessions during 1979 to 1980 after performing, on average, two gigs a day at local pubs around Sydney. Switch - INXS. The over-30 crowd-those who once shimmied to the late Michael Hutchence's hugely sexy vocal turns on hits such as Need You Tonight and What You Need-might have a hard time dissing it, mainly because J. Fortune succeeds so unswervingly at imitating him. Album 2005 11 Songs. INXS returns to its signature mix of moody guitar textures and nervous rhythms for much of the album and the enticing decadence of the bands earlier hits is recaptured on tracks like Devils Party, Pretty Vegas and Hungry. The strutting Like It Or Not and the slinky Never Let You Go reaches back to the bands 80s dance floor triumphs. Fortunes vaguely ominous croon works well on Afterglow, though Us finds him mired in excess sweetness.
