Album 2001 13 Songs. Gloria: Et in terra pas. Dame Emma Kirkby, Laurence Cummings & Royal Academy of Music Baroque Orchestra. Gloria: Gratias agimus tibi. Gloria: Domine Deus. Gloria: Qui tollis. Gloria: Cum Sancto Spiritu. A Baroque orchestra is a large ensemble for mixed instruments that existed during the Baroque era of Western Classical music, commonly identified as 16001750. Baroque orchestras are typically much smaller, in terms of the number of performers, than their Romantic-era counterparts. Baroque orchestras originated in France where Jean-Baptiste Lully added the newly re-designed hautbois oboe and transverse flutes to his orchestra, Les Vingt-quatre Violons du Roi The Twenty-Four Violins of the King. Händel - George Frideric Handel, The Cavendish Orchestra, Pro Arte Orchestra, Charles Mackerras, Anne Christina Barwegen. Handel made the headlines in March 2001, when London's Royal Academy of Music publicized the rediscovery in its own collection-under the musical world's collective nose, as it were-of a previously unknown work by the composer. The Times got so carried away as to call the piece the new Messiah. Gloria consists of seven movements scored for solo soprano with two violin parts and basso continuo, lasting about 16 minutes, most likely written before the composer was 22 years old. Vocal Music.
