I really just don't care about digital instrumentals that sound like LPU demos. Fine and Open Door are great songs too, and mislead me into believing we were getting an actual album with vocals, but no, we get this instead. Scarchives Vol. 1 is a CD and DVD digi-pak compilation from the Finnish band Lordi, released on 3 September 2012. The compilation contains rare archive materials from Lordi, and was released to celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the band. The CD contains a previously unreleased studio album recorded in 1997, Bend Over and Pray the Lord. The original version of the song, Get Heavy recorded in 1997, and a previously unreleased song entitled Hulking Dynamo from the Get Heavy recording sessions. The singer took time off before recording her upcoming fifth studio album, Cymatika Vol. 1 Spring 2012, to plan a magical Carribean wedding with music executive, Lenny Nicholson. After stepping off the plane, Mrs. Nicholson clicked her heels to the studio to continue working on Cymatika Vol 1, which she says is 80 finished. Archiva, Vol. 1 really is a very pop-oriented album. Asia was an intriguing band when it began, always based solidly in pop traditions, but also with a good deal of progressive rock leanings. This album shows little of that prog flair, except in brief moments. However, the inclusion of the Steve Howe solo Ginger - a definite gem - is one good reason to own this album.
