Recording information: Recorded and mixed between September and October 1985 at the Music Lab Studio in West Berlin, West Germany. Released in 1985 by Noise Records, only one year after the band was founded, it is Helloweens only album featuring Kai Hansen as lead vocalist. Track 1 is largely based on the melody of the nursery rhyme London Bridge Is Falling Down, though the band's use of it stems from the 'Happy Happy Helloween' theme from the film Halloween III: Season of the Witch. Helloween followed up their very popular self-titled mini-LP with 1986's even more accomplished Walls of Jericho, a disc that saw the quartet from Hamburg, Germany, outperforming expectations and quickly defining their sonic identity.
