Hans-Joachim Roedelius born 26 October 1934 is a German electronic musician and composer. He is best known as a co-founder of the influential krautrock groups Cluster and Harmonia, and for his work in the ambient jazz trio Aquarello. Roedelius was born on 26 October 1934 in Berlin, Germany in the family of a dentist. He was an unwilling member of the German Youngsters in the Hitler Youth, membership being mandatory for all boys from the age of ten, and appeared in several propaganda films. The tenth solo album from Roedelius and the last recorded for the Sky label prior to his move to Venture and a more explicitly serene approach, Wasser im Wind is in many ways both a summary of his work, both on his own and with Cluster, over the previous years and an intentionally prickly conclusion to that initial phase.
