Gorefest was a Dutch band formed in Goes, Netherlands Zeeland province in 1989 as a death metal outfit by Jan-Chris de Koeijer, Frank Harthoorn, Alex van Schaik and Marc Hoogendoorn. is the first studio album released by Dutch death metal band Gorefest. It was released in 1991 by the small Dutch label Foundation 2000 Records and reissued by Nuclear Blast in 1993. It was reissued again in 2005 as a double-CD with Tangled in Gore and Horrors in Live albums. 5 Former members. 3 References. The album sold relatively well in the Netherlands and Germany for a band of the genre. In the months to come they completed a European tour with Deicide and Atrocity, playing in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Czech Republic, Slovakia and England. In 1993, Gorefest played a show at the Dynamo Open Air at Eindhoven. Gorefest reformed in 2004 and played various summer festivals in 2005. The band then came out with a new album, La Muerte. They produced the album themselves, with mixing by Tue Madsen from Antfarm Studios. While both Mindloss 1991 and False 1992 are arguably old school death metal releases to the bone, the sophistication in the guitar and harmony department were enhanced with the addition of Bonebakker to the ranks. He made it clear from the start that he wasnt interested in just playing basic death metal, but that he wanted to incorporate a more melodic and rock oriented touch to the music, inspired by his great love of 70s and 80s heavy metal and hard rock. The album was released through Nuclear Blast Records in August 2005. Gorefest reformed in 2004, and after releasing two successful albums the band announced that they had completed their body of work to their full satisfaction. They split up in 2009.
