I was lost on an endless sea, Going down, going down, going down on an endless sea, Sail with the wind, you weather the storm. I was free in the dead of night I want you, I want you, I want you in the dead of night Give me your love, I'll sing you my blues I bring it all home, bring it all home, I bring it all home. I was blind in the light of day I need you, I need you, I need you in the light of day I still won't let go, hang on to this pride I bring it all home, bring it all home, I bring it all home. Artist: Gerry Rafferty. Album: Snakes and Ladders, 2011. Official video of Gerry Rafferty performing Bring It All Home from the album Snakes and Ladders. Has been played on. Sounding like a cross between George Harrison and Van Morrison's respective '70s solo careers, Gerry Rafferty's Bring It All Home is a staggering in the looped sense, semi-bluesy piece of soft rock featuring a Morrison-style repeat-the-line hook and some truly over the top sax playing by Raphael Ravenscroft, who plays pretty much non-stop. It's eminently mockable, then, but Bring It All Home is such an unpretentious slice of processed cheese, and Gerry Rafferty sings it with just the right kind of casual lightness that befits a man who made so much money off his previous album that he need never work again, that it's impossible to hate.
