Since disbanding his former group the Harpoons in 2011, Furman has worked in an array of mediums, from the edgy, introspective folk-pop of his 2012 solo debut The Year of No Returning to the nervy, '50s-tinged punk of his follow-up Day of the Dog. Perpetual Motion People is Ezra Furmans third album since the dissolution of his first project, Ezra Furman and the Harpoons. Released on BarNone records in July 2015, the album received critical acclaim and marked an upturn in Furmans commercial fortunes, peaking at 23 in the UK album chart.
