I recently realized that I'd never replaced my old and worn cassette, so I downloaded the digital album. I really missed this. The music is always fresh and evocative and never gets old. This old-new friend is still one of my favorites and will never grow old . Eugene Friesen born 1952 is an American cellist and composer. Friesen is a graduate of the Yale School of Music. He has been a member of the Paul Winter Consort since 1978, and performs with Howard Levy and Glen Velez as Trio Globo. He received a Grammy Award as a member of the Paul Winter Consort for the 1994 album Spanish Angel and again in 2006 for the Consort's Silver Solstice in 2007 for Crestone, and in 2011 for Miho: Journey to the Mountain. Paul Halley born 1952 in Romford, England is a keyboardist, composer and choral conductor now living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He was a member of The Paul Winter Consort from 1980 until 1999, contributing to five Grammy Award winning albums both as a performer and composer. He has collaborated with Consort member Eugene Friesen on the album New Friend 1988 and released half a dozen solo albums. Halley was Director of Music of The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City for thirteen years, as well as the Founder and Artistic Director of the acclaimed choirs, Chorus Angelicus and Gaudeamus, based in Torrington, CT.
