Info
Eric Clapton at His Best is a two-LP compilation of Eric Clapton's work after he left his earlier band Cream, released in September 1972. It was concurrently released with a two-LP compilation of Cream tracks, Heavy Cream, along with at His Best solo retrospectives by Cream's other members Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. Although available in other territories as well, Eric Clapton at His Best was largely released to address the North American market, in order for Polydor Records to leverage Clapton's. Upon the expiration of its US licensing deal with AtlanticAtco, Polydor wanted its own Eric Clapton compilation on the American market to compete with History of Eric Clapton, and so released this two-LP set, which featured material culled from Clapton's debut album, Eric Clapton and Derek and the Dominos' double album Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, both of which. had been released through Atco. Lonesome and a Long Way from Home Vinyl - Album 1. I understand that I can opt-out at any time by emailing privacypolicy. Thank you Welcome to Eric Clapton's mailing list. Eric Clapton had already carved out a respectable career for himself before he issued his first solo album in 1970. In his first six years as a recording artist, he appeared on records by the Yardbirds, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Cream, Blind Faith and Delaney & Bonnie & Friends and, shortly after his self-titled debut, Derek and the Dominos. Since then, he's released nearly two dozen LPs under his own name. As we rank Clapton's solo albums from worst to best, one thing is certain: With as many comebacks as he's had over the years, we're not counting him out. He may still have another classic record in him. Next: Top 10 Eric Clapton Songs. Filed Under: Eric Clapton. The construction of the solo is flawless, which suggests it was composed then performed in the studio. But check out the repeated string bend halfway through. Eric Clapton - Five Long Years From The Cradle, 1994. Danny Bryant: The moment Clapton clicked for me was the From The Cradle album. It was just him doing blues covers, using his own style, but making each track a little tribute to his heroes. He did a version of Five Long Years thats just unbelievable.
