When Dream and Day Unite is the debut studio album by American progressive metalprogressive rock band Dream Theater. The album is composed mainly Theater's custom logo, known as The Majesty Symbol, is derived from Mary, Queen of Scots' mark, which was re-worked by Charlie Dominici for use on the album artwork for When Dream and Day Unite. The Majesty symbol has been present on every album cover since then. When Dream and Day Unite is the debut studio album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, released on March 6, 1989 through MechanicMCA Records. The album is composed mainly of material that originally surfaced during the band's early years as Majesty, and it is the only Dream Theater album to be recorded with their full original lineup that features Charlie Dominici on vocals, as James LaBrie replaced Dominici as the lead vocalist on all subsequent albums. When Dream And Day Unite is the first album by Dream Theater, which was released on March 6, 1989 on MechanicMCA Records.
