Phobos was the fourth story in the first series of the Eighth Doctor Adventures produced by Big Finish Productions. It was written by Eddie Robson and featured Paul McGann as the Eighth Doctor and Sheridan Smith as Lucie Miller. Because Blood of the Daleks was released in two-parts, it was the fifth release of the series. It was co-produced with BBC 7. The TARDIS lands on Phobos, moon of Mars - where extreme sports nuts of the future indulge their passion for gravity-boarding and wormhole-jumping. This is an oddly maligned story, but I have to admit I rather enjoyed Phobos. It features some great concepts as the Doctor lands on Phobos and finds it's been turned into a key resort for drennies adrenaline-seeking extreme sports nuts. Personally, I liked the concepts and the characterization of Paul McGann's Doctor was strong and the way he handles the final encounter is classic. Doctor Who: Phobos. Released May 2007.
