The Fresh & Onlys are an American rock band. They were formed in San Francisco, California, United States, in 2008 by Tim Cohen of Black Fiction, bassist Shayde Sartin and guitarist Wymond Miles. A year later they recruited drummer Kyle Gibson. They are a key band in what has been described as San Francisco's new garage rock movement, but their sound is equally aligned with pastoral psychedelia, brooding new wave, western twang, and jangly literate 1980s guitar pop. When it comes to garage rock, it doesn't get more gray and dreary than the Fresh & Onlys' Play It Strange. It's a spectral album of songs that relies more on its sound than its songwriting. And that wouldn't be a bad thing if there was just a little more variety on this album. After the first Fresh & Onlys began in 2008 as a collaboration between front man Tim Cohen, guitarist Wymond Miles and bassist Shayde Sartin. A jangly, literate guitar whose early records were key in pioneering San Franciscos modern garage rock movement. Wolf Lie Down is the sixth full length album from The Fresh & Onlys and their debut for Sinderlyn Records. The album is full of anthemic garage rock burners and a haunted vividness now driven by the duo of Tim Cohen and Wymond Miles.
