Bitte Orca is the fifth studio album by American experimental rock band Dirty Projectors, released on June 9, 2009 on Domino Records. The word bitte is a German word for please, and orca is another name for a killer whale. Frontman David Longstreth states that he liked the way the words sound together. Longstreth notes that the music contained within the album felt very about colors, and their interaction, and that the music was written with the notion of the band, as a whole, in mind. Dirty Projectors. Bitte Orca. UMG, Domino Recording Co от лица компании Domino Recording Co. Moses Sumney - the Dirty Projectors frontman we have a fellow who fancies himself not so much a songwriter as a modern composer, a Yale grad with one of indie rock's most divisive voices. Early DPs records carry with them ambitions so grandiose it's no wonder they range from wildly inventive to practically unlistenable- occasionally in the span of the same song. Now comes Bitte Orca, the band's best, and certainly most likable, album by a mile. 2009's Bitte Orca certainly follows in this tradition, and there's enough aural shapeshifting on this set to keep anyone guessing on first listen. Despite that, in many respects, Bitte Orca is one of Dirty Projectors' most accessible efforts to date the slinky Stillness Is the Move could almost pass for mainstream R&B with its potent groove, lush harmonies by Amber Coffman and Angel Deradoorian, and elegant string coda, though with Longstreth's wiry juju guitar leads floating over the top, this ain't quite Beyoncé . Dirty Projectors - Bitte Orca review: Bitte Orca is an unorthodox listen racking your brain and melting your heart all in the same instant, and that is something to appreciate. Their sound is sophisticated, as displayed on latest album, Rise Above, which rubbed off gritty and frantic at times in their homage to Black Flags Damage. With Bitte Orca, we find Dirty Projectors as a reborn band, invigorated with pop sensibilities without removing the experimental indie-rock prowess that they are known for. About Bitte Orca. Bitte Orca is a wonderful collection of different sounds, female voices intermingling with male, fantastic composition of instruments each standing in their own place, not obstructing the others, as would characters in a Kurosawa film. It is at once high-class art as well as fun pop. Maybe hard to understand initially, but with repeated listens reveals its favors. Bitte Orca Q&A. Genre: Indie Pop. Dirty Projects last album of the decade served as a kaleidoscope of color with an array of creative ideas within the musical performances. 5mo. Dirty Projectors come up with what is probably their sell-out record. Bitte Orca works pretty well not just as a synthesis of all of their qualities and standout sound, but as a great album as well. It has some amazingly fun and diverse compositions with a great production quality and some varied instrumentation that runs throughout its runtime.
