It also charted in the United States in both the Billboard and Cashbox charts. It was written by Dan Hamilton. In addition to being recorded by the Ventures, it has also been covered by Aqua Velvets, and Susan and the Surftones. It was also covered with Japanese lyrics by Joō-sama as an OP for the anime adaptation of Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kōen-mae Hashutsujo. The album attracted the attention of several major record companies, but Diamond Head signed to MCA Records in 81. Their major-label debut was followed by a more adventurous but poorly received follow-up. The band split in 85. Acknowledged as a major influence by Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, the re-formed Diamond Head released an album in 93 which included guest appearances from Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth, and Ulrich himself.
