Butterfly Case is Cuushes brand new breath-taking 2nd full length album, coming four years after her beautiful debut Red Rocket Telepathy and the subsequent Girl You Know That I Am Here But The Dream EP. While Cuushes debut album put more focus on field recordings and found sounds, in Butterfly Case , you can see her moving graciously from her dreams into reality, expressing herself with delicate analog tape, distorted synths, drum machines, looped guitars and her signature feathery vocals. I Miss You boasts one of Butterfly Cases best buildups, seemingly peaking with a sing-song melody before whirring synths fade out and Cuushe sighs, I want to be with you. Album highlight I Love You layers Cuushes voice over itself multiple times for the first half of the song, but then she suddenly emerges clear from the haze as she bluntly delivers the titular phrase over and over again.
