One of the main highlights of Spitshine is the very focused songwriting. Vocalistguitarist Steve Conte also displays a variety of muscular guitar riffs, which he incorporates into upbeat songs like Revolution in the Air, a snaking blues track that would fit nicely on any Faces album. The vocal delivery is much more soulful on this record than on Linoleum.
