Taken off the 1995 EP Twinlights by Cocteau Twins. 0:00 - Rilkean Heart - Golden Vein Pink Orange Red Half-Gifts. Really, was kind of an exercise, if you like, for ourselves. We thought, We write nice bits of music, but can we write a song You know, if you took all this stuff away-if you took all the effects off a minute-is there actually a song underneath Four-track EPs are just brilliant because theyre like little experiments. Youre dipping your toe in a pool you dont normally spend any time in. You think, Well, look, Id like to do something acoustic. I dont really want to make a whole album of it, because people will think this is our new direction. With the Twinlights thing an. Cocteau Twins were a Scottish rock band active from 1979 to 1997. They were formed in Grangemouth by Robin Guthrie guitars, drum machine and Will Heggie bass, adding Elizabeth Fraser vocals in 1981 and replacing Heggie with multi-instrumentalist Simon Raymonde in 1983. The group has earned critical praise for their distinctive ethereal sound and the soprano vocals of Fraser, whose lyrics often abandon recognisable language. They pioneered the 1980s alternative rock subgenre of dream pop. Listen free to Cocteau Twins Twinlights Rilkean Heart, Golden-Vein and more. 4 tracks 15:50. Extended Play. Cocteau Twins Format: Audio CD. Fans of the Cocteau Twins are an intensely loyal lot, and they know that the Scottish trio has often done its finest work on EPs, so Twinlights should be well-recieved. The four songs continue the shift toward more discernable vocals begun with Heaven or Las Vegas and Four-Calendar Café, but the instrumentation is much sparser than the usual lush Cocteaus creations.
