Listen free to C. Mackintosh Sessions 4 Ole, Ole, Ole Satoshi Private version, Respect The Ultimate Anthem mix and more. 15 tracks 82:23. Rock Solid. One of the defining mixes of the 90's during a time that saw house music come of age. Choc full of house classics mixed very tightly by master craftsman CJ Mackintosh, unlike some of the other early Sessions CD's that have highly dubious mixing skills on display. A selection of piano and dub styles of the time, this mix is blended perfectly. This CD won't be leaving my collection or appearing back on here any time soon. Sessions is a series of DJ mix albums, each album normally by a different DJ who also compiles the tracks, released by the London-based electronic dance music label Ministry of Sound. Alongside The Annual it is one of Ministry of Sound's better-known compilation album series. Not the first ever DJ mix album released, or at least first to chart in the UK. The Ministry of Sound record label began in 1993, and the first release on it was The Sessions Volume One, a 12-track mix compiled and mixed by Tony. CJ Mackintosh Format: Audio CD. My favourite one of the original sessions series. This really captures the magic of what it would have been like to see CJ working the main room at the legendary MOS Saturday night, Rulin. Big vocals and some infectious dubs, really peaks for me when he drops Colour of My Skin and then takes it deep with Oscar G. Class all the way through.

On the whole this is a good mix. Starts off unfortunately with the absolutely atrocious Ole, Ole, Ole. What is it with DJ's in the mid 90s playing awful novelty records?!

Thankfully it gets much better! Verges into familiar US Garage territory albeit with a commercial edge (Judy Cheeks, Kathy Sledge, Barbara Tucker etc). That's not to say that the mix doesn't go deep in places either though (Pimp Daddies).

On the whole excellent but again ruined by the incredibly saccharine Message of Love produced by CJ himself. This tune has perhaps the most banal lyrics I've ever heard in House. Awful.

If the mix didn't have these tracks on it, I'd have given it a 5.
