This is a track that deserves it‘s rank as a definitive boogie classic of the 80s. It was always special since I heard it for the first time back in 1982/1983 over here in Germany. Another track that was ALWAYS played in the same night was Sinnamon‘s “Thanks to you“. F***, get me back to yesterday’s party nights. I really need a time machine.

Decent track, but very much over-hyped in it's genre. There are FAR BETTER boogie-funk records from this era that barely get a mention.

If you think there are tracks more worthy of mention, then why don't you mention what those other tracks are?

This original release can be distinguished from the reissues/bootlegs by a few characteristics. While the original has a color-gradient label-background with a light green/grey undertone the reissues have plain black background. The text alignment is different as the original has a full line-spacing between "Records & Filmworks Inc." and "Chemise". On the reissues there is only a 1-2 milimeter spacing. Also the original says "33 1/3 RPM" and the reissues say "331/3 RPM". The lower round-text ends next to "Vocal" on the originals while it ends at the height of "RPM" on the reissues.

So.... is there any of the older older presses that sounds good other than the OG?

I'm very happy with the quality of the Lotus Records 12" version from 1982. Sounds phenomenal.

One of my most favourite records I own. Works really well in a club setting for an emotional break in between house beats. Played by Gerd Janson and other house heads. As for sound quality: I own both the OG copy and 2016 repress and maybe it's my mind tricking me (nostalgia bs), but I feel like the OG press sounds warmer.

This track has just started appearing in a perfume advert on TV in the UK. Still stands up as a great 80's funk-synthesizer track. LOVE IT! You never know it may get a re-release due to the advert!!!

This track really hits the spot. Considering it was produced in 1982, this was some really forward looking music. The synth bassline, along with the phased snares and tripped out keys give this a nice spacey feel. The vocal is great also.

Not really...LOTS of stuff sounded like this during this time period, and plenty of stronger records came out in 1982 IMO. This one is very over-hyped.

The phasing snare sound is a pink noise sweep triggerd by a real snare, blended together. I really like the subtle way they made all the synthetic sounds work to support a great song instead of doing a bland song with novelty sounds.

Sort of like the poor man's "Thanks To You" by Sinnamon, this obscure dance track features female lead and backround singers who sound so annoying that you think they came out of a Brady Bunch episode. The only thing that saves it is a catchy, up-beat tempo with good synthesizer hooks. It's debatable whether a DJ would play this at a club. You swear that the singers sound like ten year old girls, especially when they start giggling at the end of the song.

That proves nothing. Music quality has NOTHING to do with popularity. "She can't love you", in my opinion, is just a decent song in the boogie-funk genre. Far better records came out in 1982 and beyond.

NOT! This got much more airplay on WBLS in NY while ""Thanks to you" was under the radar. As far as childrens vocals, what about Cheri's "Murphy's Law"? Also check out the You tube hits:"She cant love you" 1.5 Mil vs "Thanks to you" < 100K. So there :)

I heard this at the club and it I didn't see anybody leaving the dancefloor. I think there is a good reason why this 12" can be bought for 50$plus.
