This is a list of recordings by American jazz alto saxophonist Charlie Parker. Parker primarily recorded for three labels: Savoy, Dial, and Verve. His work with these labels has been chronicled in box sets. Charlie Parker's Savoy and Dial Sessions have been issued on The Complete Savoy Sessions, Charlie Parker on Dial and Complete Charlie Parker on Dial and The Complete Savoy & Dial Master Takes. The tracks are not composed by Charlie Parker, but rather 3 great jazz tracks with Charlie Parker playing, along with a melody of miscellaneous jazz standards from Gershwin and other popular hits. The album keeps its valuable name of Jam Session, but does not show the true potential of Charlie Parker's style and symphony. Parker is outstanding and it is like eves dropping on a late night session in a smoky club on 52nd Streetoh to have been therenot forgetting Shavers great solo. Carters playing and the breathy tenor of Ben Webster also shine. Oh, and one last thought. If you want to convince a non-believer of the wonder of swing then this album is it, but most of all Charlie Parker Jam Session will let them hear that the blues and jazz are in one anothers pockets.
