The session was the second of two produced by Cannonball Adderley with Powell, following the A Tribute to Cannonball session recorded two days earlier. A Portrait of Thelonious - Bud Powell. Лента с персональными рекомендациями и музыкальными новинками, радио, подборки на любой вкус, удобное управление своей. Powell along with bassist Pierre Michelot and drummer Kenny Clarke explores four of Thelonious Monk's tunes, Earl Bostic's No Name Blues and the standard There Will Never Be Another You but it is the final two numbers I Ain't Foolin' and Squatty which really find the bop master at his most spirited and swinging. This pressing is diamond for the ear! Crisp and true analogue sound. Exceptional stage and mastering.
This is actually an ode to Cannonball Adderley, who produced this session dedicated to the music of Thelonious Monk. Very powerful work, wonderfully captured full of emotions and amazing palpable three-dimensional sound
