Michigan wonder kids Brave Bird are back with their second EP and follow up to their 2013 debut LP Maybe You, No One Else Worth It. Titled T-Minus Grand Gesture, the EP is a game changer for Brave Bird- varied tempos, vulnerability, and perhaps best of all, a sound fully realized. The return of guitarist Matt Terrigan paired with vocalist/guitarist Chris Lieu have made the group a force to reckon with. Brave Bird are pushing the boundaries of the genre forward in a refreshing and exciting way that should pay out in spades.

Solid modern punk troubadors Favorite track: Rekindle. Unfortunately Brave Bird seems more interested in writing Brand New worship than top shelf emo tracks, and T-Minus Grand Gesture suffers for it. I feel like I've written this review several times, and it's because I have. Brave Bird certainly fall under this assessment, and it's a shame because the band has it in them to write killer songs like the title track. One stellar cut, three good ones, and four middle of the road tracks certainly makes for an above average release, but the potential Brave Bird have instilled in them makes T-Minus Grand Gesture a disappointing release.
