By Felix Mendelssohn. 58, MWV Q32: II. Allegretto scherzando. Alexander Zagorinsky. Brahms, Mendelssohn. All cello sonatas, 2014. 1 in E minor, . 1 in E Minor, Op. Allegro non troppo. By Johannes BrahmsGyörgy Sebök & János Starker. A cello sonata is usually a sonata written for solo cello with piano accompaniment. The most famous Romantic-era cello sonatas are those written by Johannes Brahms and Ludwig van Beethoven. Some of the earliest cello sonatas were written in the 18th century by Francesco Geminiani and Antonio Vivaldi. The following list contains cello sonatas with or without accompanying instruments. See the See also list for more comprehensive lists divided up into solo and accompanied works. Play full-length songs from Brahms, Mendelssohn: Cello Sonatas by János Starker on your phone, computer and home audio system with new album, of the cello sonatas by Grieg, Mendelssohn his second in D major and one by Stephen Hough himself, is no exception. Steven and Stephen are on fire playing most beautifully and very excitingly. The whole piece anticipates Brahms in its expressive depth and is played with moving tenderness by Hough and Isserlis. The sonata ends with an ebullient finale, notable for its active virtuoso piano part which Hough takes on with gusto. The Cello Sonata No. 2 in F major, Op. 99, was written by Johannes Brahms in 1886, more than twenty years after completing his Sonata No. It was first published in 1887. It was written for, dedicated to and first performed by Robert Hausmann, who had popularised the First Sonata, and who would the following year be given the honour of premiering the Double Concerto in A minor with Joseph Joachim. There are four movements: Allegro vivace. Adagio affettuoso in F major. Allegro passionato in F minor. Album 1996 11 Songs. 38: II. Allegretto quasi minuetto
