Info
Third Stage is the third studio album by American hard rock band Boston, released on September 23, 1986 on MCA Records. It was recorded at musician Tom Scholz's Hideaway Studio over a long, strained six-year period between floods and power failures. Scholz and Brad Delp, the group's vocalist, were the only individuals that remained in the group from its original line-up. In terms of lyrics, the release invokes the themes of aging and working through differing 'stages' in one's life. Lead single. John III English, Tom Scholz. Boston - Third Stage 1986. Stage became Boston's second and final No. 1 album as well, going four-times platinum along the way. That provided plenty of momentum for a resulting tour, which then set the stage for Boston's next era. Delp and Scholz were joined on the road by bassist David Sikes, drummer Doug Huffman and second guitarist Gary Phil, forming a lineup that remained solidly in place into the early '90s. We turned a corner for performing at that point, Scholz told Goldmine. Listen free to Boston Third Stage Amanda, We're Ready and more. 10 tracks 35:07. After rushing their second album Don't Look Back, Boston took eight years to complete the album Third Stage. The long delay is even more surprising considering that their sound didn't change at all even though only songwriterguitarist Tom Scholz and vocalist Brad Delp remained from the original lineup, they were the ones responsible for Boston's sound. As such, it is difficult to avoid comparisons with their landmark debut. Boston Format: Audio CD. Please retry. Another awesome album by Boston, so why leave it so long to add it to my collection Another truly immense album, with the soaring vocals and multi-layered guitars that no-one comes close to matching. Every song is a winner, and every solo will take your breath away, whether it's the guitar, or mighty Hammond organ. Boston Third Stage My hubby's a Boston fan and says this CD is fantastic and hasn't got any of the ones that are on here. Read more. Review of Third Stage by Boston, Part of Classic Rock Review's celebration anniversary of 1986 albums. Starting in 1969, he recorded and re-recorded the music that would comprise the debut album Boston, a masterpiece that was finally released in 1976 Classic Rock Review will look at that album in December. After the phenomenal success of their debut, the band produced the follow-up Dont Look Back in the relatively short time of just two years. Released in 1978, Scholz never felt like it was quite done and swore that hed not rush out another album. It would be eight solid years before the next album, Third Stage would see the light of day
