Info

Take Them On, On Your Own is the second studio album by American rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. It was first released in the UK on August 25, 2003, and in the US on September 2, 2003. The album was reissued with bonus tracks in 2008. The album cover is a homage to the film The Third Man. The album has a darker, harder rock sound than their debut album, and also contains more politically themed lyrics. I don't own any right of this songs. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club made an impressive debut in 2001, taking both America and England by surprise while alternative metal ruled the charts. Their psychedelicspace rockglam-colored blend was hungry to give rock a new face. Three years later and garage rock still reviving the late-'90s pop-soaked scene, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club aims to save a bit of rock & roll with its sophomore effort Take Them On, On Your Own. The band gives the impression that the last album was lifeless, therefore, the split in song and craft on Take Them On, On Your Own isn't exactly a messy thing. There's more character to songs themselves and BRMC appears a touch more confident. The band's second album 'Take Them On, On Your Own' featured several songs 'Generation' and 'US Government' which were critical of the United States' foreign policy and George Bush in particular. Very specific press. No, it's not bad. Perhaps a very fastidious listener will not like it. But i think it sounds like his own money. Sometimes it realy shakes - it has a good elastic bass. Tangible medium. Moderately high. However, the dynamic range drops to the center of the record and it doesn't sound so cool anymore. The mass of the record is very noisy, so you can hear the hiss in quiet places. However, there are not so many of them. No clicks.. In general, the sound quality for garage rock is satisfactory. The sound is alive and rushing much more than a CD. I got high! ;) However, you will need solid acoustic hardware to rock this record. I opened this album in a new way, so I recommend buying it in the collection. My rating is 7.5 / 10

Garbage reissue, mastering sounds really poor, lacks depth and not what I would expect. Pressing I think may also be United and has a bit of noise ????

It is the same guy, Mike Lazer, that mastered the CD from 2003 that did these reissues ("For Murder" also), chances are these releases are NOT mastered for Vinyl but taken directly from the CD. On BRMC's other reissue releases it is Peter Black who remastered the material specially for vinyl. Virgin/Univrsal has their name on the sleeve together with Cobraside - so maybe it is Virgin that want to save some money… Both Howl 6 Baby 81 sounded SO much better than these (I only got the Yellow vinyl versions - these have CSDLP 1167 in the deadwax - For Murder has CSDLP 1168 n the inner-deadwax….

This is a pretty noisy and fuzzy pressing... but... it kind of suits it.
