Info

Cocoon is a song recorded by Icelandic singer Björk for her fourth studio album Vespertine 2001. It was written and produced by Björk and Thomas Knak, and released as the album's third single on 11 March 2002, by One Little Indian Records. Inspired by her relationship with artist Matthew Barney, Björk wanted to make a record with a domestic mood. Working with Knak, she wrote Cocoon, a song which is lyrically about a woman who describes making love with her lover during their post-coital. Текст песни: Who would have known That a boy like him Would have entered me lightly Restoring my blisses. Described by Björk as about being on your own in your house with your laptop and whispering for a year and just writing a very peaceful song that tiptoes, Vespertine's vocals seldom rise above a whisper, the rhythms mimic heartbeats and breathing, and a pristine, music-box delicacy unites the album into a deceptively fragile, hypnotic whole. Cocoon is a song by Björk from her fourth album, Vespertine. It was released as the third and final single from the album. This was one of the last songs to be written for Vespertine. Its very hard to explain, but when I read it and the other person its about reads it, we dont feel abused or anything. I think theres songs where Ive been more. scruffy about what Im expressing. I have a problem with music thats. Björk Guðmundsdóttir. Vespertine is a particle beam in comparison, as weightless as light but concentrated with direction. There is nothing remotely close to drumming on any of the albums twelve tracks. The flurry of rhythm at the start of Cocoon has the gravity of a spider scurrying across linoleum. On Vespertine, she goes even further. When she opens her mouth, words and notes dont come out - you go in, swept up to a box seat inside her head. Its a busy room - as naked as the music is, Vespertine is dense with sensual obsession and fear of loss. Aurora is a song about literally dissolving with pleasure Bjork prays to become one with the pure color of the northern lights. Album 2001 12 Songs. She spent three years embroidering the microbeats behind Vespertine-flickering, sinewy sound beds comprising samples of domestic life-intending for it to sound good even at pirated bit rates. It was a revelation both human and technical, as Björk welcomed the world into her and her lovers hidden place. While undeniably beautiful, Vespertine fails to give electronic music the forward push it received on Björk's preceding albums. Rather than designing sounds never before imagined, the album merely sounds current, relying on the technology of standard studio software and the explorations of the Powerbook elite. There are few surprises here for the Björk fan, and fewer for the electro aficionado. Sure, it's nice to listen to, but it rarely challenges like Post's Enjoy and Headphones, or like Homogenic's Pluto. And what's a Björk album. Vespertine, released in August 2001, is an album by the Icelandic singersongwritermusician Björk. It sees Björk creating an introverted, quiet world of swirling microbeats and personal lyrics. On the cover she can be seen wearing the swan dress designed by Marjan Pejoski that caused a stir at the 2001 Academy Awards. Björk uses an array of sampled objects to create beats and soundscapes in a number of songs on Vespertine, including shuffling cards on Cocoon and Hidden Place snow being walked upon on Frosti, and ice being cracked and smashed on Aur.
