It was released in June 2007, and was the first album released for Mendota Recording Company, Ben Weasel's digital download only record label. On October 23, 2007, it was released physically on CD and vinyl by Edmond Records, and on April 7, 2009, was re-issued by Asian Man Records. Woe betide Ben Weasel fans without high-speed internet and an iPod, for These Ones Are Bitter, Weasel's sophomore solo set, is available only as a download. Bitter indeed for those without the wherewithal to get it, and yet another kick in the teeth to the eternally optimistic still holding out hope that the singer might just re-form Screeching Weasel. But really, what's the point in bitching Just suck it up and celebrate Weasel's latest release, because it's a stunner. The exuberant pop-punk opener Let Freedom Ring kicks off the proceedings in fine style, and. He's in grand form, the rest of the band sharp as tacks, and for all the bitterness this album will entail, these songs are destined to become much loved classics. For the new album he enlisted the help of Dan from Alkaline Trio and two members of the All American Rejects, a band he openly loves but seems to be the exact thing killing the notion of punk he helped create. Speaking of weather, the meteorological motif doesn't end there. Several songs on These Ones are Bitter focus on things like clouds, sunshine and warm weather. Perhaps a lifetime of living in the windy city has left him cranky. Better yet, maybe he suffers from seasonal depression. Ben Weasels first foray into solo-record territory came in 2002 with the highly introspective, philosophical and hope-filled Fidatevi. It may have been a different direction lyrically for Weasel from the oft-sarcastic numbers drenching his former band Screeching Weasels lyrics, but overall, he and his backing band didnt stray too much from the signature sound thats made the man a legend in the punk-rock world. This album is billed as Ben Weasel And His Iron String Quartet, but do you consider it another solo record Yeah. Just trying to be clever with the title-or funny. I dont know what I was trying to do. Secondly, while the songs may be bitter lyrically, this is not an angry or negative sounding album. The music is very uplifting and exuberant in the best of ways. Its also the poppiest Weasel has ever gotten. The songs are still punky, no doubt about that, but these songs have HUGE hooks, lots of backing vocals, and a lot of other musical elements that stretch beyond the standard pop-punk template. Speaking of which, the musicianship on here is incredible. lingua nada these hands are royal. lingua nada salam cyber. r kelly tp3 reloaded. аукцыон full album. lingua nada habiba. lingua nada proto. u d o full album. commander tom attlention f w remix.
